Focus and My 2016 Oscar picks and predictions!

I’ll start with just a few thoughts and observations.
I have really poor focus. I mean, duh, I’ve known that I’ve had severe adhd nearly all of my life, but I’m only now starting to realize how much it effects my emotional well-being. My brain is constantly worrying and ruminating, and nearly anything can trigger a disturbing train of thoughts.

I know I’ve gone through periods of time in the past where I have gone all gung-ho over being mindful, but I am realizing that the more I write and talk about it, the more accountable I can hold myself to actually practice it.

My current mantra is to “be present.”

So If you see me worrying or tearing up or hear me start sentences with “I should have,” or “it’s not fair” – I give you full permission to slap me (softly).

Now on with happier thoughts.

It’s my favorite time of the year!

And this year I actually feel quite prepared. Matt and I have been very diligent about watching as many Oscar nominated films in anticipation of this weekend.

That’s right, the Oscars are this coming Sunday, and I fully plan on dressing up in a fancy dress and eating a bunch of cheese and sparkle water while cheering on celebrities.

If I’m completely honest, the films I saw were not as good as I remember in previous years, and I’m pretty sure many of my favorites won’t win- but it’s still something I enjoy indulging in.

Anyway, lets get on with my picks. I planned on writing out explanations for all of these, but I ran out of time, and anyway this is mostly just for my own record.
