T.G.I.F. (Truth. Gratitude. “I am.” Fuck it.) (3)

Where did this week go? Actually, I don’t care. I’m just happy it’s Friday. Let’s get on with it.

*I’m feeling a little at loose ends. My boyfriend is going out of town all weekend, and there’s plenty to do to fill my time-but sometimes I just feel anxious about being alone.

*However, I’m really excited for Matt, as he’s riding in the MS 150 this weekend. He’s riding his bike all the way from Houston to Austin. That’s crazy. But I’m super proud of him for all of his hard work and it’s going to be so much fun cheering him on at the finish line.

*I think I really need a vacation. We’ve been trying to plan a backpacking trip, but have had a really difficult time finding a weekend that we both have free. Part of me wants to just take off and screw everything, and I’m afraid I might be reaching my breaking point.

*My dog friends- Every day when I come home from lunch from a busy morning at the radio, and am gearing up for a busy afternoon at my afternoon job- I feel overwhelmed and anxious. Every day these two little friends of mine manage to lift up my spirits and remind me to be present and enjoy those few moments I have with them.

*Cool opportunities: This year I got a chance to judge the Funniest Person in Austin Contest again, and had a blast! I have a blast watching comedy, and I’m always surprised that there are so many good comedians in Austin.

Boyfriend Matt: I know I’ve said it before, but sometimes I don’t know how he puts up with me. I am so grateful that he does, because he makes my life so much better. He takes care of me, listens to my problems, cooks me delicious meals, goes on fun adventures with me.  I love this man with all of my heart.

“I am”:

Watching- I’m finally catching up on Dr. Who. I forgot how much I need this show in my life.

Reading: My Sunshine Away-M.O. Walsh

So far, I’m really loving it. It takes place in Baton Rouge (Matt’s hometown) so I’m having fun asking him every five minutes if the places mentioned are real.

Drinking: My obsession with Kombucha may be getting out of hand. It is a little more expensive than I would like to spend on a beverage, but it’s worth it. My favorite is locally made-Buddhas Brew. DELICIOUS.

Fuck it: I had all these big plans this week to do some work on the back end of this website. A few months ago, I decided that a new design would make writing here more enjoyable so I trashed the old one and stuck in something that was supposed to be temporary.

I’ve spent a few hours doing research and made a few changes, but I think I’ve lost my patience. It might be time to hire someone. Bah. But for now, Fuck it.

I hope everyone has a magically beautiful weekend! What’s going on with you this week?

And still holidays for the kids…
You should totally go camping. Hiding at home for the weekend never made anyone feel better. Or, wait, was that me?

Traveling! You just reminded me of the lingering desire to make lots of website changes myself too (but not enough to put the time in). Go Matt, hope he rocks his trip!

Sounds like you could indeed use a break! Before you break, that is. these 2 short weekends away are doing great things for my mind—giving me some perspective about some larger things floating about, but they are also driving me MAD because I feel so behind on everything
T: I am at a few crucial decision points with regards to my future, or at least I think I am. But also truth: I don’t know of I am or if I am placing unnecessary pressure on myself.
G: Alex and the solid foundation of our relationship
I am: sitting on my suitcase at the airpost like a lady
I am not a lady, so that is actually a lie.
F: I was gonna do lots of things wth regards to my own site, and well I think I’ve reverted To just being like whatever. There are more important things to life
have a rejuvenating weekend girl. whatever that may be!

Oh, sometimes I have exactly the same feelings about my husband – how does he put up with me? It’s been hard for me to start believing that I’m worth all the attention and love, but seriously, we are worth it! And that’s why our husbands and boyfriends love us – for what we are.
    Have a great weekend!

Thanks so much! Sounds like we both had the weekends we needed! I’m glad you had a fun trip! It’s so difficult to know whether or not we are putting too much stress on changes in our life, or if we should just let things fall where they may and possibly miss out on something awesome. Life is so confusing sometimes! I’m always here if you ever need to vent!

  • http://www.carissajaded.com Carissa

Aw thanks, to both of those things !

  • http://www.carissajaded.com Carissa

So very true. And we’re both lucky in that regard!

They really do. They are so happy just doing whatever it is that they’re doing in that moment. I’m jealous sometimes.

Haha I finally did it! I got a wild hair!

I have a friend that has tried her hand at making Kombucha…maybe you could see if there is somewhere around where you are to get you started in making your own?
